Beyond the crumbs, offer an ocean
She has to touch me before touching me. Because true love needs to reach the soul, awaken a warmth that transcends any skin. It is this invisible touch, that shakes the fibers of one’s being and that only someone who truly sees beyond the eyes can offer. And when that happens, everything around transforms.
To love is much more than a date marked on the calendar, a wrapped gift, or a holiday. To love is to build a legacy of memories, like bricks that form the house that shelters two hearts. It is caring to know how the other person feels even when they say nothing, it is ensuring they feel safe and cherished in every gesture. The caress, that delicate and almost imperceptible touch, is worth more than any grand demonstration.
To love is to value the details that seem small in the eyes of the world, but that are monumental for those who love. Spooning on a cold night, feeling feet naturally intertwining, or falling asleep with the scent of the loved one’s hair imprinted in the memories of sleep. To love is to have the ability to communicate with smiles, with looks that say more than words ever could.
We live in a world that tries to package feelings in small doses, like those sugar sachets at the bakery. Everything has become fast, disposable, and relationships seem to follow this same ephemeral and superficial route. What irony, isn’t it? Where love should flourish, we find convenience and haste.
It takes courage to escape this route and surrender body and soul. Because, if we don’t want crumbs, we need to be the first to offer an ocean. An ocean of attention, of affection, of devotion. So that, when love touches, it becomes a symphony that echoes within and not just a sound that dissipates in the air.
